Gord Stefaniuk is fascinated by the great masters of the Impressionist movement and strives to emulate their distinctive styles through photography.

During this full-day workshop, Gord introduced attendees to the principles of Impressionism and demonstrated how techniques such as multiple exposures and intentional camera movement (ICM) can be used to create painterly images. Participants learned about single-shot movement, horizontal panning, and working with shutter speeds slower than 1/10 second to transform ordinary scenes into works of art.

The discussion covered a variety of subjects including seascapes, vehicles, pedestrians, and sporting events, helping photographers see familiar subjects in a completely new way.

After the classroom portion, attendees took their new knowledge into the field to practice. Together, we explored the surrounding area, searched for interesting subjects, experimented with new techniques, and learned from one another along the way.

One of the greatest benefits of workshops like this isn't just the education—it's the opportunity to spend time with fellow photographers who share a passion for creativity and continuous learning. Whether discussing camera settings, sharing ideas, or simply exploring with a camera in hand, these experiences help strengthen the relationships and sense of community that make organizations like GPPA so valuable.

Full-day workshops like this provide both GPPA and PPA merits, allowing photographers to continue investing in their education while earning recognition for their professional development.
