Meet the 2025 -2026 Board of Directors

Lisa Hill - President

Lisa Hill started her career path in child development and then went on to earn her Master of Science degree from Georgia State University in Sports Management. Although she opened her professional photography business in 2007, she has practiced photography since receiving her first camera in grade school. Lisa Hill Photography specializes in high school senior portraits and headshots, but the pandemic led Lisa to her newest passion – nature and wildlife photography.

Lisa has served on the GPPA Board of Directors since January 2021, she’s a member of the Professional Photographers of America, and is also a member of the American Society of Photographers for which she’s an Ambassador and State Representative. She holds her Master of Photography Degree through PPA and is a Certified Professional Photographer. Lisa is also a volunteer with Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep – she started as an affiliate photographer and now serves as a digital retouch artist.

When she’s not behind the camera, she’s an active community volunteer, archives family photos, and loves to read and travel. She and her husband Todd live in Atlanta with Aine and Sadie Ruth (their furry kids). They also have two daughters working on graduate degrees.

Linda Carroll - Secretary

Linda Carroll Photography (LC Photography) is owned and operated by Linda Carroll, a Photographic Craftsman and Certified Professional Photographer and Portrait Artist. Linda's journey began in the era of film, long before the advent of digital photography, auto-focus, and cell phones.

Linda's professional journey started as a sports photographer, making it fitting that she earned her first International Competition award for a fastpitch softball image. She specializes in women’s portraits, family portraits, couples, as well as branding and corporate headshots. During Christmas, her studio hosts special "Visits with Santa." Linda's work has graced the covers of three local Atlanta neighborhood magazines.

Linda graduated from Georgia State University in 1980 with a BBA in Information Systems and has enjoyed a successful 44-year career in IT. She has presented papers at numerous national and international conferences on capacity management and forecasting and is a co-author of an IBM Red Book. Linda has also served on the Computer Measurement Group Board of Directors, contributing to the Conference Committee, News Publications, and as Secretary.

Linda is married to her college sweetheart, Ben. They have been married for 44 years and have three grown children and five grandchildren. Linda and Ben love to travel and have explored Ireland and Italy with fellow photographers. Linda’s favorite song to crank up is Paul Simon’s “Kodachrome.”

Karen Clark - Treasurer

Karen Clark is retired from a career in vocational rehabilitation and is a Certified Interpreter for the Deaf, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, State Coordinator of DeafBlind services in Kentucky, and Virtual Region Manager in Georgia.

Her first camera was a Nikkormat SLR that came with a 135 mm lens, so she learned headshots early on. Until the advent of digital, she shot weddings on weekends and was too occupied with her career to take time to learn the new world. Changing from black and white to color was adjustment enough.

Being a life-long learner, she attended North Georgia Technical College to learn the digital camera from the inside out and all things photography. She started her photography business in summer 2020 specializing in events, family portraits, and headshots.

Currently, she is focusing on sports portraits in north Georgia. She earned her CPP in 2021 and has been a member of GPPA since 2019 where she has met many great photographers who became her friends and mentors. Karen feels it is time to give back to the organization that has been instrumental in encouraging and supporting her.

Karen lives in Blairsville with her husband Paul and has two children and eight grandchildren.

Sharon Fuente - VP Education

Sharon Fuente is the owner of Lifesong Photography, specializing in family and creative fine art photography. She has been a professional photographer for 14 years, starting her career taking newborn pictures at the hospital and then working for Life Touch Photography doing school pictures before starting her own photography business in 2016.

Sharon was born outside of Chicago but spent most of her early years living in Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Advertising and worked for many years as a media buyer and media planner.

Sharon is a Certified Professional Photographer and Master Photographer with PPA and was part of Team USA for the World Cup of Photography in 2022. Sharon has served on the GPPA Board of Directors since February of 2024. She has been a member of GPPA since 2018 and holds her Georgia Fellowship Degree.

She moved to Georgia in 1997 and currently lives in Rydal with her husband Robert and their dog Hugo. They both enjoy traveling and nature photography. Between Sharon and Robert they have six children and nine grandchildren.

Georgia Zumwalt - VP Marketing

Georgia Zumwalt started her professional career in 1987 as a photographer at a company called Kinderfoto, a division of Lifetouch Portrait Studios, and currently practices commercial photography for companies such as Estee Lauder, Fleschman-Hillard, Kubota, and many local businesses. She also teaches the next generation of photographers at Piedmont University in Northeast Georgia. However, her most recent photographic endeavor, and perhaps her most passionate project to date, is her honey bee farm. In fact, her images are featured in the book by Dr. Keith S Delaplane, Honey Bee Social Evolution: Group Formation, Behavior, and Preeminence pre- released this week by Johns Hopkins University Press.

Georgia is a University of Georgia/ Young Harris Certified Journeyman Beekeeper and is the proud beekeeper to 25 honey bee colonies. She’s the immediate past president of the Northeast Georgia Mountain Beekeepers Association and the former secretary for the Georgia Beekeepers Association.

As a member of the Professional Photographers of America, she was extensively involved in PPAs International Print Competition as a manager when image competition still accepted prints. She’s also a member of the American Society of Photographers and serves as a State Representative. Georgia is a Certified Professional Photographer, holds her PPA Master of Photography degree, and recently earned her PPA Photographic Craftsman degree.

She and her husband Jon live in Commerce on their micro farm with over 1.2 million bees. They have four children and two grandchildren.
