Move in, adjust your focus and discover the fascinating world of macro photography! Whether your need is for wedding day detail shots, food and product photography or the most amazing nature portraits you’ve ever seen…this class is for you! This is a hands-on class at The State Botanical Garden | UGA | Athens, so grab your camera, tripod and macro lens (or your favorite lens in case you don’t have a macro yet) and join us for a fun and creative day in the scenic gardens. We will gather for lunch mid-day—details TBA as we get closer to the date.

Georgia P Zumwalt holds the prestigious PPA Master of Photography degree, is a PPA Photographic Craftsman, Certified Professional Photographer and is a photographic educator at Piedmont University in Demorest GA and at John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown NC. She began her professional photography career in the late 1980’s. She is a visual storyteller and a visual explorer whose photographic creations bring products alive for visual consumers and bring elements of the ever-wondrous natural world to her viewers. She’s had the honor of photographing commercially for international businesses such as Kubota, Fleishman-Hillard, Estée Lauder, The National Audubon Society and many more. In addition to being a photographer and photographic educator, she is a University of Georgia/ Young Harris Certified Journeyman Beekeeper and is the proud beekeeper to 25 honey bee colonies (over 1.2 million bees) on her micro farm operation in north GA. Currently her photographic work can be seen around the state of Georgia for the “Save The Honey Bee” license plate marketing campaign, and her photography is featured in the book Honey Bee Social Evolution, by Dr. Keith Delaplane (Johns Hopkins Press, 2024).
